RHODA OLUBUSOLA AYINDE, born in Lagos on 5th September, 1961 to Joseph Olusanjo and Victoria Adunni Bankole, She started her educational journey at the Reagan Memorial Baptist Girls Primary School, Yaba in January, 1967 and completed same in 1973, she later proceeded to Girls’ Secondary Grammer School (now Eva Adelaja Girls’ Secondary Grammar School), Bariga for her secondary education between 1973 and 1978.
Her pursuit of higher education took her to Ilaro in Ogun State where she enrolled at the Federal Government Girls College for her Advanced Level GCE from 1978 to 1980. After her A-Level education, she proceeded to Nigeria’s Premier University, University of Ibadan where she studied to obtain her Bachelor of Education Degree in Education and English/English Literature between 1980 and 1983. She then left for Kafanchan in Kaduna State where she served as member of the National Youth Service Corps from 1983 to 1984, and was a lecturer of English Language and Literature at the College of Education, Kafanchan, Kaduna State.
In 1985, she took up employment with the Ogun State Teaching Service Commission as an English Language and Literature Teacher at Ijeja High School, Abeokuta. In 1988 she transferred her service to School Management Committee (Shomolu/Kosofe Zonal Office) of Lagos State where she was engaged as Personnel Officer (Retirement Matters). In her capacity as personnel Officer she was saddled with the preparation of annual budget of the Zonal Office, and documentation of retired Teaching and Non-Teaching staff for easy processing of their benefits.
Her interest in personnel matters led her to pursue a Part – Time Master’s Degree Course in Public Administration (MPA) in Lagos State University (LASU) between 1992 and 1994, with special interest in Employee Perception and Periodicity of Retirement, with Shomolu Local Education District Teachers as her Case Study.
She had through the years handled various schedules, such as, Training/Budget Officer 1997 – 1999; Inspector of Schools 1999 – 2000; Chief Education Officer (Disciplinary matters) 2000 – 2005; Assistant Director Establishment Matter 2005 – 2006; Assistant Director Pensions Administration Department 2006 – 2007. In view of the keen interest competence she developed in attending to matters of pensions, she was appointed Head of Pensions Administration Department in 2007, and held the position till February 2014.
She became Director Establishment Department in March 2014 – May 2016.
In May 2016, she was posted as coordinator of Teachers’ Resource Centre (Ikorodu) of the Teachers’ Establishment and Pensions Office, TEPO, a post that she held till March, 2018.
She is presently, the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Establishments, Training and Pensions.
Mrs. Rhoda Olubusola Ayinde is happily married to Tpl. Ayinde, a fellow of the Nigeria Institute of Town Planners and blessed with children and grandchild.
