CAPACITY BUILDING: LASG TRAINS MANAGEMENT STAFF

The Ministry of Establishments and Training has successfully concluded a training programme for civil servants in management positions in the State Public Service.

The training programme, which seven Permanent Secretaries facilitated, was designed to share the wealth of experience and knowledge of the Permanent Secretaries with civil servants to enhance their skills and expertise.

The training sessions covered various topics, including public speaking, building self-confidence, submission and memo writing, etiquette and best practices in public service. The Permanent Secretaries shared their insights and experiences, providing guidance and mentorship to the participants.

The Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Establishments and Training, Mrs. Olubusola Abidakun, commended the Facilitators for their contributions to the programme, saying “We are grateful for the willingness of our Permanent Secretaries to share their knowledge and expertise with our civil servants”.

According to her, the programme demonstrates the State Government’s commitment to capacity building and excellence in public service. It also marks a significant milestone in the state government’s efforts to enhance the capacity of its civil servants, ensuring effective and efficient service delivery to the citizens of Lagos State.

The programme was a resounding success, with civil servants from various ministries and departments benefiting from the expertise of the Permanent Secretaries. Participants praised the initiative, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to learn from experienced leaders in the State public service.

The Permanent Secretaries involved in the training included Mrs. Lolade Aina, Ministry of Waterfront Infrastructure Development; Mr. Kamal Olowoshago, Lands Bureau; Mr. Akinbode Obadina, Civil Service Commission; Mr. Wale Musa, Ministry of Transportation; Mrs. Kikelomo Bolarinwa, Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Rural Development.
